Jalapeno Popper Grilled Burger is taking burger night very serious! This mouth watering, savory, stuffed burger boasts the best flavors you could want in a burger. The spice level is perfect, the cheese is melty and creamy, and the onions are the perfect addition. We have a Pit Boss Smoker/Grill. Making dinner on this in the winter sure is tricky, but I believe a burger cooked on the grill, well there is nothing like it. The smoke contributed to the pink of the burger. We cook on 350 for our grill, but it is a pellet grill so it gives off a constant smoke. There are so many different settings and ways you can cook on this- we highly recommend purchasing one.
When I was in college, I waited tables at my hometown restaurant. We made what was called, an inside out burger. We would take 2 patties and fold American Cheese slices into squares, place in the center of patty one, then place patty two on top and merge the edges together to be sure we did not lose any cheese. The same exact method was used for this burger since I am familiar with stuffing burgers.
I first combined the inside of the burger ingredients into a small mixing bowl. You will need Colby blend cheese, scallions, jalapeno, and neuflalchen cream cheese.
Core the jalapeno and slice into small pieces. Chop scallions into small pieces as well and use the measurement on the cream cheese foil to cut 2 ounces. Add these ingredients into small mixing bowl and combine colby blend cheese and mix well.
Take two hamburger patties and in patty one place 1 scoup of cream cheese filling. Place a second flat burger patty on top and seal the edges shut. Repeat this step for as may burgers as you are making.
Stove Top Cooking
Cook on the stove top on low to medium heat by placing patty in heated pan, and cook on first side for 5 minutes or until well browned. Using a spatula, flip burger and cook for 4 minutes for a medium well burger or 5 minutes for a well done burger.
Turn your grill on in advance and heat to 350 degrees. Place burgers on grill once grates are hot and let cook on first side for 7 minutes. Flip burgers using a spatula and cook one second side for another 7 minutes. This will give you a well done burger.
I love stuffed burgers and the best thing is- grilling them adds to the flavor.
