YUM! This roast beef recipe is the only recipe you will ever want to make again! Roast beef is one if not my favorite dinner and in my eyes, it has to be done right.
Growing up lunch at my grams after church was roast beef, mashed potatoes, and corn, a staple in our family. If it wasn’t made at Nanny’s, it was in the oven at my parents house when we left for church Sunday morning. Growing up my entire life, walking through the door from church smelling the roast cooking, you knew lunch was about to be delicious! The only thing now, I miss those cherished families meals at Nanny’s on Sunday. Thank the good Lord she is still here, just tells me “damn you see those roast prices!!!!”
This one time, I told Ryan to put the roast in while I was at work. In his defense, I must have bought a bad roast but I always tease him bout that one time he butchered it. Just to be clear on how he butchered it- he dumped an entire Miller light in the crock pot to keep it “moist”! It was floating in beer and sriracha when I got home from work. HAHA MOMENT!
So in our house, we follow this recipe to the T, no matter what crazy ideas Ryan has, he blocks those out and cooks the roast exactly how I say while I am at work. So for the absolutely best tasting, mouth watering roast I got you. Trust me! Ryan has learned!
What you need….
- 1 packet Dry Ranch Seasoning
- 1 packed Italian seasoning packet
- 1 packet Onion Gravy Packet
- 1 packet Brown Gravy Packet
Place roast in either crock pot or baking pan. If you cook the roast in the oven it will take 2-3 hours on 350. If you cook in the crock pot, depending on size of roast or was till 4-6 hours.
- 2 cups of water and mix dry ranch, Italian packets and onion gravy packet. Pour over the roast. If the water doesn’t come up 3/4 the side of the roast, add water until it does. Do not completely cover the roast though.
- Cover and cook!
- When your roast is done- it should pull apart easily with a fork!
- 1 brown gravy packet
- 1 cup of water
Bring to a boil and add gravy packet.
Serve and enjoy!!!
