Mini story first— before recipe!
My fiancé and I love banana stufffed peppers and we also love cheese steak subs but we also love being healthy more. I purchased some green bell peppers and chopped steak from our local butcher. This is now one of our favorite recipes to make!
What you need:
- Bell Pepper (Whatever your favorite flavor of bell pepper is)
- Chipped Steak
- 1/2 cup Cheddar Cheese
- Splash of milk
- 1/2 cup Mozzarella Cheese
- 1 – 2 cups Spaghetti Sauce
Directions
Cut your bell peppers in half and remove insides and wash. Set off to the side.
Preheat oven to 350 F degrees
Place chipped steak in to frying pan, drizzle with olive oil and cook for 5-10 minutes until browned but juicy. Mix in cheese and splash of milk create a melty steak and cheese mixture.
Take bell peppers halves and stuff evenenly. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top. Depending on your preference, cover with spaghetti sauce. I cover ours lightly.
Do not cover. Place in oven for 30 minutes. I cook our peppers to where they are tender but still crunchy. We prefer a more crunchy feel to our bell peppers. If you prefer them softer like a stuffed pepper, remove at 30 minutes and test texture with fork, if desired longer place back inside
Remove from heat once desired texture and enjoy 🙂
