I hereby declare you no longer a seafood snob. For 24 years of my life when someone said, want to go to a seafood restaurant? My reply followed with hell no- pass the thick juicy steak. Please and thank you!
So I have been eating seafood for 2 years now. I am still snobby and there are some things I am still an absolute no to. I am willing to try new things though. When we went to Florida last year, I tried coconut encrusted red snapper– delicious! This year in Florida, I ordered a crack conch sandwich. It was amazing! I now eat fish fresh from the ocean- and still smother my crab legs in butter. You can’t have it all.
In our home, my Fiancé got me eating seafood. First- was fish tacos. Don’t you worry- our fish tacos will appear on this blog because my dear they are the bomb. This time, we tried Cajun shrimp tacos. So flavorful and topped with the goods – seconds couldn’t be passed up!
Ryan is the true seafood cook in this house, as I said I have only been on the seafood for 2 years and still learning. Check out his recipe for Cajun shrimp below- you will love them!!
What you need….
- Season All
- Chili powder
- Mrs Dash- jalapeños blend
- Taco cheese blend
- Taco shells (I tried the new blue corn by Ortega)
- Mango Siracha Blend
- Slaw Bag (cabbage & carrots)
- Heat Cast Iron pan on medium heat
- Drizzle with olive oil
Season shrimp with….
- 1 tsp season all
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp Mrs Dash jalapeño
- 1 tsp cumin
Toss shrimp till they are well heated. Be sure not to over cook or they will be tough and chewy.
- 1/4 cup mango siracha mayonnaise (mine was from a pre-made bag of slaw just had to add the dressing)
- Cabbage and carrots chopped
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Put it all together
I filled my taco shells with cheese blend, shrimp, spinach, tomatoes, and topped them with the coleslaw.
Spicy and filling!
